Soiree Musicale
Anton Achondoa was a featured performer in Paolo Tablante’s doctoral chamber music recital at the University of Alberta, playing works by Schubert and Cayabyab.

MidAmerica Presents: New England Symphonic Ensemble
Anton Achondoa sang as a tenor in the East Coast premiere of Sherry Blevin’s “Tipping Point,” conducted by the composer, as well as in a performance in Elaine Hagenberg’s “Illuminare” conducted by Clement Cano.

Juxtapositions - Doctoral Piano Recital
Anton Achondoa’s final doctoral piano recital at the University of Alberta featuring the music of Bach, Mozart, Liszt, Scriabin, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and Filipino composers. The program explores the themes of Heaven, Earth, East, and West. Venue: Convocation Hall at the University of Alberta.

Canadian vocalist, Erin Selin, is joined by trio of Edmonton-based pianists Brendan McGrath, Paolo Tablante, and Anton Achondoa for an evening of European and Filipino Art Songs.

Beyond Urtexts
Anton Achondoa will be giving his lecture recital on interpreting the music of Franz Liszt by combining scholarly score study, listening to historical recordings, and reading about performance traditions.

On March 22, 2018, as the winner of the San Jose Music Study Club competition, I played a an
afternoon solo recital featuring repertoire by Chopin, Beethoven, and Ravel.
Beethoven Series
During my M.M. studies, I performed both as a soloist and chamber musician for a concert series for
the Ira Brilliant Beethoven Center at SJSU where I performed Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in C Major, Op.
53 “Waldstein” as well as his Sonata for Piano and Cello Op. 102 No. 1 (Mov. I).
